About my Loki
Loki can be difficult to pin down regarding the specifics of his history and, of course, being difficult is almost always his preference.• Verse/timeline dependent, Loki can plausibly be found anywhere in all the worlds. He may be held in captivity, moving free across the Nine, in another form living a life none would expect or even hiding unseen amongst those who brought him low… these options are as varied as the faces he may claim, in truth.• For the purposes of interacting with twins, he is known as Reign.• Loki is proud. Of his skills, of the knowledge he has earned, vain even of his comeliness, though he is well versed in the dance of compliment and evasion. If you have need of him, take care not to offend. He will gleefully spite himself to harm you if you have drawn his ire.• Though he would be loath to admit it, Loki is damaged, in many ways. There is, of course, the obvious weight of his Father’s betrayal, the separation from the family he had never conceived of parting from in his idyllic youth, as well as what he endured beneath Thanos' watchful eye. Those scars will always remain, a map of pain within that will never truly fade, and yet, worse lingers, unseen.His dreams are seldom sweet, and he takes ruthless advantage of his nature, avoiding the dark embrace of slumber for as long as his endurance holds. He has awoken, many times, to a chamber desecrated and shattered almost beyond recognition, his art and the reflexive defenses of his subconscious seeking and failing to protect him from enemies that will always dwell as threatening shadows in his thoughts.• Thor will always remain prevalent in Loki’s thoughts; however he might deign to currently regard him. The verses span their hearts: love, fear, jealousy… the Thunderer is larger than life, and will always be so to the brother that was raised in the shadow of that compelling energy. And though he struggles against the revelation, Loki knows this, deep down, and accepts it, though admittance is another spell entirely.• The loss of his children haunts him yet. He has made oath to retrieve them, one day, if even the Realms are forfeit. Taking that into account, his children are important elements of who he has become. As in the commonly held legends, he was indeed the sire of Fenrir, the eldest of his get, Hel, and Jörmungandr, all borne by the Jötunn witch Angrboða.• In some verses he was wedded to Sigyn during this period, in others they were only betrothed, or never even became involved at all. In all of them, he cared for her in his way, resented her at times, treated her badly when she deserved it little, and in general behaved as the arrogant, spoiled little prince he was wont to be when indulged as he preferred. He never deserved her, and is well aware that she was poorly served by their binding. His regrets, as all his secrets, he holds close to his heart, where none may navigate to the vulnerability of regret that hides within.Depending on his interaction with Sigyn or other lovers, it is possible he may have more children, to be determined on an individual basis.• Regarding Thor: Ragnarok- as has been illustrated, my default Loki muse is more myth oriented than most, so there will be a considerable difference to how I play him regarding some characters in this film. I will gladly recognize any Helas that approach Loki and treat them as if they had met within the boundaries of the MCU. But in referring to Hel in any other context, she will be recognized as his daughter, and dependent on verse he will react accordingly to comments about her or threats to her person.• Any updates here relating to the new Loki series are TBD.
